NCAA Division I College World Series Begins Saturday With Strong NWAC Representation
The NCAA College World Series begins this week in Omaha, NE, and the NWAC has a record four players who will be on active rosters there.
Of the four, three are starters for their teams. Oregon State, the number three national seed, has two former NWAC players on their roster. Kyle Nobach, who began his career at Everett CC, is the Beavers’ designated hitter while pitcher Dylan Pearce, from SW Oregon, has been a mainstay out of Oregon State’s bullpen with a 2-0 record and 3.62 ERA.
Cerrillo led the Huskies this year in batting average was a second-team All-NWAC outfielder for the Bulldogs last year. Wainhouse, who hit 11 home runs earning first-team All-NWAC designated hitter honors at Bellevue, has already eclipsed that number by ripping 19 home runs batting cleanup for the Huskies this spring.
The action begins this Saturday June 16 and can be followed here https://www.ncaa.com/championships/baseball/d1
