Rogue XC Skipper Cole Watson Steps Down to Pursue Professional Opportunity
GRANTS PASS -- Rogue Cross Country and Distance Track Coach Cole Watson has announced he will be leaving the RCC athletic department to pursue a new professional opportunity with the running shoe brand Hoka One One as part of their EVO Time to Fly elite team.
"This is a great once in a lifetime (or youth) opportunity for Cole, and I hope you will join me in congratulating him!" said RCC Vice President of Student Services and Athletic Director, Kori Ebenhack.
Details about Cole's transition to the Hoka One One team are outlined in this article from Competitor.com.
Watson took over the newly formed Rogue cross country program following his graduation from University of Oregon in 2014 where he ran XC and middle distance track for the Ducks.
"I am going to miss Cole," added Ebenhack. "He came into a new program and worked harder than he expected to, tolerated many start up issues, put many hours into recruitment of not only students but coaching and other community resources to help us move forward. He is a kind, hardworking young man who deserves this great opportunity!"
