Everett Sweeps Men's and Women's Northern Region XC Championships

Everett, WA- The Everett Trojans claimed both the men's and women's Northern Region Championships Saturday in convincing fashion. Both teams had all scoring runners in the top ten places as well as claiming both individual titles.

In the men's race, Everett was led by Bryton Reim who won the 8k race in 27:26, ahead of teammates Seth Pierson and Drew Larson. Olympic's Jeremy Delicino was fourth followed by Highline's Khalid Adebe. Highline took second in the team competition followed by Green River and Olympic.

Olympic's Head Coach Daryl Schruhl was honored at the Southern Region Men's Coach of the Year for establishing a solid program in it's inaugural season.

On the women's side, Everett's Shawna Schooley ran away with the individual title completing the 5k race in 19:52. She was followed by teammate Kelsey Loomans. Green River's Diana Evans took fifth preventing a podium sweep by the Trojans who had Valerie Massie and Kelly Talkington in fourth and fifth respectively.

Green River was second in the team competition followed by Highline and Olympic. Gator Head Coach Tori Ammons was named the Northern Region Women's Coach of the Year.

These teams will all line up at the NWAACC Cross Country Championships being held November 13 at Clackamas Communuty College.
