XC Championship logoThe NWAACC Cross Country Championships are  at Lewisville Park in Battle Ground, Washington on Saturday, November 9, 2013.

The women’s championship race begins at 11am, with the men’s championship race following at 12pm.  Awards will be handed out immediately after the men’s race.

On the women’s side, the Everett Trojans look to win their 3rd consecutive NWAACC Cross Country title with Lane and Spokane looking to challenge strong.

The Trojans have a strong field of runners led by Alisha Luna, Chelsea Stokes and Katelynn Horn. Lane is led by freshman Katy Potter while Spokane is paced by 2012 NWAACC champion and Baden Female Runnner of the Year Jessica Mildes.

The men’s cross country championship will see Spokane chasing title number 12 in the past 13 years.  Their previous ten year streak was stopped by Everett in 2011.  Clackamas, Everett, and Lane are looking to keep Spokane from a repeat.

Clackamas and Everett appear to field the strongest team of runners. Clackamas is led by Badane Sultessa and Jorge Gil-Juarez while Everett is led by Kris Mugrage and Mohammud Abdi . Spokane's Daniel Schofield and Lane's Eduardo also look to lead their teams to victory.
