Grays Harbor's Casey Brown signs with Lewis and Clark State University
Sophomore Casey Brown has had more on his mind than just prepping for the start of spring golf. Casey has been hitting the links and the range as usual, but has also been weighing his options as to where he will finish his college golfing career. For a student-athlete, this isn't as simple as it may seem. You have to find a school that is reputable and offers your degree. But as an athlete you are also considering facilities, coaching, your new team dynamics, conference travel, and much more.
" I want to own my own business someday so have always had my mind set on getting business degrees. At LC State I will be able to do that. I will get my 4-yr degrees in Business Administration and Accounting"
- Casey Brown
We are glad to announce that Casey has found his perfect school in Lewis and Clark State University in Lewiston, ID. The Warriors team has been highly successful in recent years. Casey is very excited about coach Paul Thompson, who has led the team to 8 conference titles in his 11 years on the job. The Warriors Golf Team plays superb courses and plays a great schedule. Perhaps best of all, Casey will be close to family. Casey will be less than two hours from his home town of Rosalia, WA. Additionally, his sister lives in neighboring Clarkston, WA. Being so close to family will allow for additional support when needed, and allow for family to travel to Lewiston to visit and watch Casey in tournament play.
" I always set goals to work towards in life. So far I have done a pretty good job staying on track with my goals. I wanted to go to a community college and earn my AA degree and play golf. I also wanted to improve enough to be able to continue playing at the 4-yr level while earning a BA degrees. It has certainly always been one of my goals to be one of the community college players who gets a chance to actually utilize all 4 years of college playing eligibility.
