NWAC announces future sites for Golf Championships
The Northwest Athletic Association (NWAC) is pleased to announce the hosts of the NWAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships for the next six years as the Home Course in DuPont, Washington and Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima, Washington. The Home Course will host the NWAC Golf Championships in years 2017, 2019, and 2021 and Apple Tree will host in years 2018, 2020, and 2022.
According to NWAC Executive Director, Marco Azurdia, "we are looking forward to our partnerships with both the Home Course and Apple Tree. Apple Tree has already hosted NWAC golf matches and we are familiar with the high quality of service and events they host, and to play our championships at the Home Course, which has hosted major amateur tournaments elevates our golf championship experience."
"Apple Tree is proud to host the NWAC Golf Championships," said Jon Kinloch, Apple Tree General Manager. "The NWAC is a great partner, is highly organized, and puts on an outstanding event. With exceptional weather, beautiful scenery, and an unforgettable signature hole, we hope to create a memorable experience for the student-athletes."
Tournament Director at Home Course, Bobby Lane said, "Having the NWAC Golf Championships at The Home Course for the long term is a tremendous opportunity for both partners to establish the foundations of a great golf tournament year after year. The views of Mt. Rainer and the Olympic Range at The Home Course will give these participants the chance to play a championship level golf course, while taking in the scenery of the South Puget Sound."
NWAC Golf Committee Chair, Barry Janusch added, "these are two excellent courses that will provide a great test for NWAC golfers. Our athletes and coaches are very excited with this new championship schedule."
