CCS Sophomore Golf Star Evan Omelia Signs a National Letter of Intent to Attend Washington State University
Evan Omelia had one of the most impressive freshman seasons in CCS Men's Golf history during his freshman season. The first-team all-conference player won three individual titles and helped lead the Sasquatch to a record setting 15-tournament win streak dating back to the previous season.
Omelia won the Columbia Basin College Invitational, the Spokane Bigfoot Invitational and the Bandon Dunes Invitational. He shot many rounds at or under par and was consistently in contention to win tournaments. So far in 2013-14 (sophomore season) he has 2 runner-up finishes to freshman teammate Brady Calkins.
Evan officially signed a National Letter of Intent to attend school and play golf at NCAA Division I, Washington State University starting in the fall of the 2014-15 season. Omelia will have 2 years of eligibility after completing to years of school at the Community Colleges of Spokane.
"I could not be happier for Evan. He has worked very hard and his family has put him in position to be very successful in school and in his golf career. There is no doubt in my mind that Evan will be a very good player at WSU and the Cougars are gaining an excellent teammate," said CCS Head Coach Scott Kramer.
The Washington State Sports Information Department will be putting together a press release very soon about Omelia's signing.
