Dwayne Kirkley was a basketball player for the Trailblazers during the 1980-90 and 1990-91 seasons and was named to the NWAACC All-Star Team.

He moved on to Western Washington University where he played two years and was NAIA Northwest Conference Most Valuable Player. Kirkley was named to Western's All-Century Team (1900-1999), was WWU Athlete of the Year in 1994 and was selected to the third-team NAIA All-American the same year.

Kirkley has gone on to play professional basketball in Australia and Japan, earning MVP honors in both leagues.

He was inducted into the Centralia College Sports Hall of Fame in 2001 and Western Washington's Hall of Fall in 2010.
