Mike Guajardo was a two-year letterman on CBC's basketball team in 1969-70 and 1970-71. He was the team captain in 1971 when he shared the team's Most Valuable Player Award and won the Most Inspirational Player Award.

A Ford Foundation scholarship recipient, Mike went on to graduate from Pacific Lutheran University, where he lettered in baseball and then onto Washington State University.

Mike taught elementary education for one year in Granger before returning to Pasco where he taught and coached basketball at McLaughlin Junior High before moving to Pasco High in 1980. He taught History and Spanish at Pasco High until 1997 when he became a vice principal in charge of the extended day program, before retiring in 2003.

While head basketball coach at Pasco High from 1981 - 2001, Mike became the most successful basketball coach in PHS history with an overall record of 274 - 181. He was named Big Nine Conference Coach of the Year four times.

Mike was inducted into the Pasco High School Hall of Fame in 2003.

Mike has served as the game day operations manager for the NWAACC Basketball Championship Tournament over the past several years.
