Loa Mosby Mize was a member of BMCC's track and cross country teams. She placed first in the 440 run and 440 intermediate hurdles at first OCCAA women's track championship meet in 1977. At the 1978 championship meet, she repeated as champion in the 440 run and also won the high jump.

She placed second at the first OCCAA women's cross country championship meet in 1976. Mosby Mize went on to earn letters in track and cross country at Oregon State University, winning the OSU track and field Scholar Athlete Award in 1979.

She has volunteered her time in Cub Scouting, youth track and field clubs and officiating high school cross country and track events.

She is currently an engineering manager at Mentor Graphics Corporation in Wilsonville, OR.
