Bob graduated from Cheney High School and played football at the University of Montana. He then returned to Cheney high school in 1959 as an assistant in both football and basketball, before becoming head football coach from 1960-1963.

From 1964 through 1967, Bob was the assistant football and head wrestling and golf coach at Yakima Valley College. In 1968 he became head football coach and also continued his golf coaching duties.

From 1971-1974, Everson served as an assistant for the University of Washington football team and then became head football coach for the Community Colleges of Spokane, serving from 1974-1988.

At Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS), Bob’s teams won the league championship title in both 1984 and 1985 and he was named NWAACC Coach of the Year three times. In addition, Bob was the head golf coach from 1976-1986, winning the conference title in 1979.

During his career, Everson won four regional and two NWAACC championships. Bob is a member of the CCS Hall of Fame and was inducted into the NWAACC Hall of Fame in 1994.
