Cory was a Tacoma Titans men's basketball player from 1997-1999. In 1999, he was named the Western Regions MVP and was First-Team All-Conference. He led the Titans to a West Region Championship and sixth place at the NWAACC tournament in 1999. He set a school record for three point field goals, hitting 113 during the 1998-99 season. After Tacoma, Cory played at Northern Arizona University. He earned All-Big Sky honors in 2001. He set a NAU record for three-point field goals in a season with 105. Cory played professionally in Australia from 2001-2003.
