Jeff Overholser was a graduate of Rogers high school in Spokane where he earned All City honors in basketball and was awarded a basketball scholarship to the University of Idaho.

He started his lifelong career in education as a teacher/coach at high schools in Idaho and Washington. Overholser was hired by Dr. Johnson as the Vice President of the Spokane Community College District 17. One of his duties was the administration of the athletic programs and he became the first athletic commissioner to the Washington Athletic Association of Community Colleges (WAACC).

Overholser was a strong supporter of the athletic programs at Spokane and throughout the state. He was instrumental in the consolidation of the athletic programs at SCC and SFCC into the Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS) program.

Overholser also played a key role in the consolidation of the Washington and Oregon community college athletic programs into the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC).

He has been named to the CCS Hall of Fame and the NWAACC Hall of Fame Roll of Honor.
