Snyder was a Washington high school administrator who became the Pullman superintendent of schools from 1961 to 1970. He was then hired by Dr. Johnson as the President of Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC). He served as President from 1970 to 1974 and continued to be a strong supporter of the athletic programs.

Snyder became the President of the Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS) in 1976 when Dr. Johnson retired. He was responsible for the consolidation of the athletic programs at Spokane Community College (SCC) and SFCC into the CCS athletic program in 1979.
