Bob became Head Coach of men's basketball in 1975 and Athletic Director in 1982. He served both positions until 1991. Among his many achievements as coach was a win/lose record of 268-150.

Under his leadership, his teams went to post-season play 13 times and came away with 7 regional and 5 league titles. His guidance also led teams to finish within the top five in six out of ten state tournaments.

He also served as Athletic Commissioner and was on the NWAACC executive board for two years. He coached and taught at Pe Ell High School, from 1959-61 and Mt. Si High School from 1962-75.

Bob was inducted into the Centralia College Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.

He passed away in September 18, 1997 of complications from Leukemia. He was 62.
