1983 Women's Basketball Team

Community Colleges of Spokane
Class of 2003

The Community Colleges of Spokane women’s basketball team won the NWAACC championship by beating defending champion Highline Community College 68-61 in the final game. It was the first of two straight championships for the Lady Sasquatch from Spokane coached by head coach Scott Foxley and assisted by Jerry Skaife and Craig Johnson.

CCS won the Eastern Region championship with a 9-3 mark and the NWAACC championship with a 22-5 season record.

CCS was led by two All-Region and All-NWAACC first-team selections, Beth Willard and Robin Jordan. Sophomore forward Willard was named to the first team All-Region team for the second straight year while Jordan was picked as the Most Valuable Player in the 1982-83 NWAACC tournament.

The championship roster included; Stacy Magney, Sandy Hildebrandt, Janet Wolkey, Sally Stern, Beth Willard, Raylene Gennett, Kirsten DeWitt, Theresa Benning, Ginny Friend, Allison Schrimsher, Robin Jordan, Karen Riba, Sheri McNeal, Rose Tinkle and Jullie Kagele.
