NWAC Fall Festival M/W Soccer & Volleyball a Huge Success!

The Northwest Athletic Association (NWAC) just completed the 2016 Fall Festival featuring 50 menís & womenís soccer matches and 96 volleyball matches at the Willamalane Center for Sports and Recreation located in Springfield, Oregon, August 27-28, 2016.  Over 1800 intercollegiate athletes, coaches, and staff members, participated in what is considered the largest collegiate sports festival in the nation!

Kathie Woods, Volleyball Chair remarked, “What a thrill to see all 32 NWAC volleyball teams representing on one site.† It was a tremendous opportunity for 4-year coaches to come and see our talent, all under one roof.”† Men’s and Women’s Soccer Chair Jason Prevonost shared, “The Fall Festival is such a unique opportunity to showcase our soccer teams and I don’t know of another athletic conference in the country that provides this format for their teams.”

NWAC student-athletes at the Fall Festival donated over 100 backpacks filled with school supplies that were received by Christine Lundberg, Mayor of Springfield, and Janet Thorn from the Brattain House at a BBQ for the athletes Saturday night.† The supplies and backpacks will go to elementary school aged children in the Springfield and Eugene communities.†† The NWAC core principles of Character, Competition and Community were clearly on display throughout the weekend.

Friday evening prior to the Fall Festival, NWAC volleyball teams attended the University of Oregon Volleyball Vert Challenge and NWAC women’s soccer teams attend University of Oregon soccer game.
