Whatcom all-star Hattie North commits to Western Washington University Women's Soccer
Former Bellingham High School and Whatcom Community College standout Hattie North has committed to play soccer for the Western Washington Vikings next season.
North played her freshman season at St. Martin’s University in Olympia, where she saw in action in 16 games, including 15 starts. At WCC, North started 17 of 18 games as a sophomore under head coach and former Viking standout Mary Schroeder.
As captain in her lone season at WCC, she was named to the NWAC All-Star Team and also was named to the NWAC North All-Region team as a standout defender for Orcas, who finished in 4th place in the region, just narrowly missing out on a playoff berth.
North had a standout career at Bellingham High School as a three-sport athlete as well. She was named to the women’s soccer all-conference second team as a sophomore and first team as a junior and senior. She also made first team all-state as a junior and honorable mention as a senior.
In track and field, she helped Bellingham to a state championship in the 4x200 relay, a second place finish in the 4x100 relay, and a third place finish in the 4x400 relay. She was also an honor roll student.”
