Bellevue College names Eduardo Millan as head men’s soccer coach

Photo of Eduardo Millán Eduardo Millán moved to Washington state in 2003 after graduating from Plano West High School in Plano, TX. Eduardo played two seasons at Edmonds Community College under then head coach Eddie Fernandez.

In 2004, Millán helped Edmonds reached the quarterfinal playoffs. The same year Millán was selected to the NWAACC soccer all-star team.

Subsequently, he transferred to The Evergreen State College, in Olympia, WA. where he played for the Geoducks for two seasons under head coach John Purtteman.

Millán graduated with a B.S. of Liberal Arts with Emphasis on Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in 2008. His playing career continued for many more years playing Semi-Professional for Seattle Wolves and for OSA in the NPSL.

Coach Millán comes to Bellevue College after having success coaching the girls' and boys' soccer programs at Highline High School. With the girls’ team, Millán took them to the 2A District Tournament three years in a row. In 2014, he earned coach of the year honors while taking the girls’ team to the state tournament.

With the boys’ team, Millán drastically turned the program around. After just four years, the boys’ team made it to the 2A State Tournament Quarterfinals for the first time in over a decade. He remains the head coach for the boys’ program during the spring season.

Millán has over 15 years of coaching experience for various clubs and high schools in Washington state. He holds several coaching licenses and certifications.

Coach Millán’s wife, Christina Millán, is the fastpitch head coach at Tahoma High School in Maple Valley, WA. He has a daughter named Cielo. Eduardo has soccer in his blood, with his twin brother coaching for Maple Valley Premier and older brother coaching for PacNW.

His philosophy is simple, whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart. Coach Millán brings passion, strong work ethic, high standards, diversity, and a new vision for the program here at Bellevue College. He is looking forward to bringing excitement and success back to Bellevue.
