Clackamas' Riggs commits to Linfield College Soccer

Allison Riggs

Oregon City, OR -- Sophomore forward Allison Riggs has verbally committed to play soccer at Linfield College next season.  Riggs hails from Flagstaff, Arizona (Coconino HS) where she collected several prep all-star selections and helped lead the Cougars to back to back playoff appearances, including the NWAACC's final four last season.

Riggs expressed her feeling about the move, "I'm extremely excited about going to Linfield next year, this is a school that I wanted to go to since I was a senior in high school. Academically, I'm really looking forward to the Business program, and so far I have heard nothing but good things about it. Athletically, I'm extremely excited to start training with the team. Dominic is a great coach and the girls are awesome and very lively. I think it will be a perfect fit."

Linfield (7-8-1, 10-9-1) concluded the 2009 season with a fourth place finish in the a NCAA Div III Northwest Conference. The team is coached by Dominic Doty who just completed his first season at Linfield.

Riggs found her experience at Clackamas a rewarding one, "Playing for Clackamas was truly a great experience. I learned so much about the game  from the outstanding coaching staff as well as the skilled players that I had the opportunity to compete with. Tracy [Nelson] has helped me grow as a player, and my knowledge of the game is really going to benefit me in these next two years to come."

Riggs also had this to say about her departure, "I'm going to miss this team tremendously. It has been one of the best teams I have ever gotten the chance to play with."
