The Bellevue Softball Team Finished up its Week of Service, putting in over 200 combined hours to help the local community.
After working the Edmonds CC softball team at the Women of Wonder 5k/10k event on Sunday the 10th, the Bulldogs teamed up with two other local organizations.
On Wednesday, September 13th, the Bulldogs volunteered at the Greenwood Senior Center, who's mission is that of an inclusive community that provides social, physical, and educational activities focused around the needs of older adults; empowering them to live in their homes longer. The Dawgs spent the day at member's homes pruning, pulling weeds, raking leaves, washing cars and bringing smiles to the faces of the community!
On Friday, September 15th, the Bulldogs finished up their week of service, joining in on the United Way's Annual Day of Caring. For the 5th straight year, the Dawgs worked with the Food Bank Farm in Snohomish, WA. This year they harvested over 5,000 cabbage heads that will be distributed directly to the local food banks.
"Service to our community is an extremely important part of our program and has an impact way beyond the softball field. All these events help our players understand the greater good they can have on those around them and the pride they can feel for helping those in need. It was an honor to support the efforts of both the Greenwood Senior Center and the Food Bank Farm!"
