Spokane men repeat as tennis champs

Spokane, WA - The Spokane Sasquatch team depth guided them to a second consecutive NWAACC Tennis Championship narrowly edging out Treasure Valley 130-125. The Sasquatch had a player or team in all but one of the final day's championship matches. The number one singles, won by Treasure Valley's Russ Seals was the only match of the day that didn't have a Spokane player. On the day, Spokane claimed four individual titles and one doubles title.

In the number one singles, Seals defeated Sofy Hagos (Shoreline) 6-0 7-6 (6) to win the title.

The number one doubles title went to Treasure Valley's Kenny Mitchell and Fernando Tello who won 7-6 (5), 6-1 over Spokane's Garrett Mullen and Zach Jurhe.

Treasure Valley's Head Coach Mark Heleker was named the 2011 Men's Tennis NWAACC Coach of the Year.
