Linn-Benton Holds Off Lower Columbia's Late Rally 4-2 to Close Friday

LONGVIEW, Wash. - The Linn-Benton Roadrunners held off Lower Columbia's late rally attempt to win 4-2 and advance in the winner's bracket on Friday at the 2025 NWAC Baseball Championship at David Story Field.

The Roadrunners got a standout pitching performance from starter Brody McCullen who threw eight strong innings, allowing two runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Easton Corey closed out the game in the ninth, allowing two walks in a scoreless frame.

After being shutout for the first seven innings, the Red Devils finally got on the board in the top of the eighth. They loaded the bases with no outs then got an RBI fielder's choice by Jace Nagler and an RBI single by Harlan Rowe to cut into LBCC's lead.

The Roadrunners scored three of their four runs in the second inning, starting with Conner Boyd's RBI single to score Jake Holmes. Then Kolten Lindstrom, who helped LBCC walk-off on Thursday, hit a two-run triple to give McCullen a three-run advantage. The Beaks added an important insurance run in the seventh as Bryant Starr scored on an error.

Linn-Benton advances on in the winner's bracket and will take on Tacoma on Saturday at 5:35 p.m. Lower Columbia will battle Spokane at 2 p.m. in an elimination game.
