NWAC Men's & Women's Golf All-League Awards Announced, Championships Start Sunday
VANCOUVER, Wash. - Ahead of the 2024 NWAC Golf Championships, which start on Sunday at Apple Tree Golf Course, the 2024 NWAC Golf All-League award winners have been revealed.
North Idaho swept the Most Valuable Golfer of the Year awards as Josh McCartain won the men's award and Laila Jalil took women's award. McCartain was tied with Spokanes Cole Jaworski this season with the lowest average score this season at 73.5, but McCartain averaged the number in eight league rounds this season while Jaworski did so over six rounds. Jalil narrowly edged Centralia's Jayda Thomas by one stroke, averaging 80.1 strokes in eight league rounds this season.
The NWAC Golf Championships begin on Sunday, May 19 at Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima, Washington. Round 2 will take place on Monday, May 20. North Idaho led the regular season on both the men's and women's side with wins in all four league matches. The Cardinals had a perfect score of 36 points on both sides during the regular season. Spokane is in second on the men's side with 32 points, followed by Southwestern Oregon with 26.5. Bellevue is second on the women's side with 30 points while Olympic ranks second with 27.
