Linn-Benton Scores 8 Runs in 4th to Down Edmonds 10-5 in Elimination Game

LONGVIEW, Wash. - The Linn-Benton Roadrunners exploded for eight runs in the fourth inning to lift them to an elimination game victory 10-5 over Edmonds in Game 10 of the 2026 NWAC Baseball Championship on Saturday at David Story Field.

Trailing 4-1 through three and a half innings, the Roadrunners broke out for eight runs in the fourth thanks to three home runs in the inning. Tyson McGrorty got the scoring started with a two-run single. Three batters later, Bryant Starr hit a three-run home run just inside the left field foul pole. After a pitching change Chanz Flores went back-to-back with a solo shot to make the score 7-1. After a single by Mark Carpenter, Jackson Fera capped the inning with a bomb to right field to give the Roadrunners a commanding 9-1 lead. 

After allowing four runs in the second, starter Talon McGrorty settled in and allowed just one more run over the next five innings as he went seven strong to earn the win for LBCC. Talon pitched to his twin brother Tyson who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Flores led the team with three hits, also scoring two runs. Jake Johnson pitched a perfect two innings in relief to close out the win for the Beaks.

Edmonds was led offensively by Santiago Herrera who doubled in two runs in the second inning. Brody Olmstead gave the Tritons a solid 4.1 innings out of the 'pen, allowing one run with five strikeouts.

Linn-Benton will next play the winner of Everett vs. Lane on Sunday at 4 p.m. The loser of the Everett vs. Lane game will play Lower Columbia on Sunday at 12 p.m.

Edmonds finishes its great season with a 39-14 record, a co-North Region title and a top-six finish at the NWAC tournament.
